Location: Keene, NH
Description: Important Details
LITTLE OR NO RTO WILL BE APPROVED – Permanent staff have priority for time-off requests, and few summer days are available for travelers.
Cheshire Medical Center will not consider “Local Travelers” (those residing within 50 miles of the facility). Traveler must have their own vehicle for this assignment.
Essential Responsibilities
Under the administrative direction of the Chief Therapist and clinical direction of the Radiation Oncologist, the Radiation Therapist will assist in the treatment and care of Kingsbury Center for Cancer Care patients.
Key Duties
Administers prescribed radiation treatment, sets necessary factors, and monitors patients & control panels.
Prepares patients, rooms, and equipment for treatment and simulations.
Assists the Radiation Oncologist with medical exams and simulations.
May inject dye into a patient’s skin as a marker with proper training & approval.
May administer contrast media retrograde into the urinary bladder during simulations.
Performs calibration on equipment per the Radiation Safety Officer’s guidelines.
Ensures radiation safety measures for patients and personnel.
Records patient doses, gathers medical histories, and documents any reactions for review.
Updates patient exam history files, maintains treatment records, logs procedures, and handles scheduling & billing.
Submission Requirements
Minimum 2+ years of current Radiation Therapy experience – REQUIRED
Oncology Experience – REQUIRED
VARIAN TRUEBEAM experience – REQUIRED
ARIA (Treatment Record & Management) Experience – REQUIRED
Previous travel experience – Highly Preferred
Certification & Licensing Requirements
ARRT Certification
BLS (AHA)
NH License of Medical Imaging & Radiation Therapy
NH MIRT or Temporary Equivalent State License – REQUIRED IN HAND
State License: New Hampshire (Compact Allowed)
